“There is a Special Place in Hell Reserved for You”

There is no statement that upsets and saddens me more than the one above. And I often see it on Pro-Life pages from Christians. Yes abortion is one of the saddest and most horrific things that we are committing as a society. And I get that these people commenting are angry, but where is the charity in a statement like that?

I mean I can list many of the ways that Planned Parenthood shows its “care” for women:

  1. Covering up for the sex crimes of children
  2. Keeping the ultrasound images hidden from patients, showing a beating heart, tiny hands, and tiny feet, …kind of defeats the notion of a “clump of cells”
  3. Harvesting and selling body parts of aborted babies
  4. Or how the founder of Planned Parenthood, Margaret Sanger, said “We don’t want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population…” …Black Lives Matter right?

Ok but let’s forget about all that right now.

Where does that leave a person who has been hurt by abortion?

The man is barred from having any sort of opinion on it. And the woman?

On one end of the spectrum, she sees those bragging about the number of abortions they’ve had, and how its touted as a completely safe procedure, and how abortion was the way one actress was able to get her coveted Golden Globe.

And on the other end, we have the Pro-Life side condemning her to hell for what she did.

On both ends, her feelings are invalidated.

Where does the hurt woman, grieving from what she has done, who feels so alone and depressed, who can’t sleep from the constant nightmares…Where does she go?

Now imagine if she went back on that Pro-Life page and saw someone responding with love saying:

I’ll pray for those who felt this was their only option, and had no hope, and is feeling remorseful. I hope they find Christ’s love, mercy, and forgiveness, so that, they too, may be able to forgive themselves.”

Wouldn’t that have much more of an effect on someone who is in pain?

Let us not forget that Jesus said “I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.” Luke 5:32

And one of my favorite saying is “All of the sins in the world, would be just a drop, in my ocean of mercy.”

I always say that the way to bridge the gap of differences is with compassion and integrity. And what better way to share the ultimate integrity, the ultimate truth, than that of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We on the Pro-Life side need to be more Pro-Eternal Life as well and remind everyone that God’s mercy, His love, and His forgiveness is for us all. And that no matter our sin, we are all called to His Kingdom.
